Training Methodology using 3-prong strategy CREST Modules delivered by PBS are designed to develop competencies and skills relevant to the workplace situations and environment, through case studies, activities, role plays, group discussions and action planning. The three-prong strategy are : This learning approach aims to facilitate learning through means of doing and discovery. Participants will learn from their environment, apply the learning acquired and look for the new knowledge and skills needed for better work performance. For example in the Group Effectiveness module, participants will engage in an activity called "Rescuing the Enthusiastic Customer" in which participants are to retrieve a seemingly elusive object using the resources at hand. Upon completion, participants will be able to discuss the importance of teamwork, recognise the importance of planning, communication and collaboration, and also appreciate results gained from effective teamwork efforts. (2) REFLECTIVE TEACHING: This approach engages participants in the process of analysis, synthesis and evaluation of situation, issues and alternatives. In one of the exercises involving Teamwork, participants will be asked to identify work-related problems and outline the overall problem solving process. This approach enables participants to develop the ability to think creatively and examine alternatives in the workplace, and leverage existing and new knowledge and skills to innovate products and processes.
(3) FUNCTIONAL CONTEXT: CREST programmes delivered by PBS applies a functional context in the delivery of the modules. This context provides participants with work-relevant learning and thinking activities. The course materials would provide participants with work-based content and exercises. For example, in Organisational Effectiveness & Leadership module, through an activity called "Team Radar", participants will learn how to work as a team to reach a specified goal and to recognise organisational inconsistency and how to go about changing it. In the same module, participants will partake in another activity called "Paradigms" aiming to enhance understanding of what will interfere with the change process and focus on how that applies to their daily work. Thus, this functional context approach seeks to develop the ability of participants to integrate and apply new knowledge and skills at the workplace. The KEY to SUCCESSFUL TRAINING lies in QUALITY FACILITATION, the ability of the trainer to identify oneself with the participants and to make "alive" the principles taught to real life situations, where they can vicariously experience CHANGE, albeit within a "safe" classroom setting, through interacting with one another in a group. It is in Quality Facilitation that makes our PBS training effective and distinguishes us from other providers.
